I was reading some where that there was a way to put a 3 lug adaptor on the sp89 clone with out changing the barrel. Now I can't find it again I'm not even sure it was here. Anyone remember reading about this?

Talk to Curt at S&H Arms.  He does the 3-lug barrel conversion.  http://www.sandharms.com/

I was looking into getting the 3lug conversion for a MKE 94P but with a new US made 3lug barrel costing $160 is there any value in getting mine chopped and converted?  Maybe something I'm missing?

$160 Barrel
$200-$250 to press out old barrel and press in the new one.
$100 for a refinish

$500 or $150 to chop and thread. You make the choice. I had a RCM barrel added to my MKE 94K so these are accurate numbers. If I had the 94P, I would have done a chop and thread.
