i have never seen this style buffer. not a heavy, not a g3 that i have seen. what is it?

Looks like an aftermarket solid rubber buffer like the ones used with Choate folding stocks.

My best guess is it's an early Hk21 buffer.

i was thinking something like that, but the center post doesnt stick out to far? maybe the early ones were different

I asked Adam @ HKPARTS.NET and he said that the buffer is from the FMP (Portugese) HK21's. He mentioned that they are not too common these days and that they are more effective than a std G3 buffer.
