What would be the right price for a SP89 semi-auto?

$3800 to $4500 depending on condition. Typically $4000.

There's a NIB SP89 with no reserve on gunbroker.com right now. The current bid is $3,526.00, but I expect it to go higher... $3,500 would be a pretty good deal for a NIB SP89.

I payed, if I remember correctly, $4200 for one NIB, just gun and 1 15 round mag, but with styrofoam, manual, and original shipping box.

Damn I haven't followed prices on these things for a while.  Not that it's an equal, but at that price I'll look into an MKE I think...

Yep, $4k is about normal right now.
My other HK rifles are 'real' German: USC/UMP, SL8/G36, HK94, HK93, SAR8 (as close as you can get to an HK91, I know I know)
But the SP89 was just toooo mucho dinero. I went with a Coharie 89k for about $935 when he had his big sale. It ran good but had some ejection probs, I put a MP5 bolt head on it and it runs like a champ! I can't wait to get my form 1 back and throw that Choate stock and foregrip on it. Threaded 3-lug barrel, fun fun toy.
