I got around to again stripping the Cetme my lady bought me. Took the musket apart specificaly to measure bolt and rollers as well as I could.
Bolt is(measured with a Central caliper. not micrometer) about 1.823"-1.825" in length. Would seem to be approx. .010" short if supposed approx. length is 1.835"
I just let the rollers hang from the bolt head, and measured. the rollers appeared to hang more than halfway from the bolt, so hopefully is close. The rollers measure about .313" or close to that figure. Don't have the roller specs onhand, but I think thats about the minimum(small) size. So conceivably, a set of +2 or +4 rollers could do me some good on my bolt gap. So I have some questions. Would it be worthwhile to buy both a +2 and +4 set of rollers, trying the +2 rollers first? Does Century put new recoil springs in the Cetmes they sell these days? Do any of the site sponsors sell rollers and small parts for these rifles? Thanx. Seventeen. |
