| Is there a super-secret source these days, or is everyone paying $50 a mag? I was hoping to try some of those Asian ones, or some straight ones and see if they work. |

Gordon Miller has new curved 30rd South Korean in stock - $13.00 for 25 or more $20.00 for 25 or less. http://www.hkspecialist.net/product_display.php?Category=26&Page_Number=5 Cole Distributing has used straight 30rd German mags in stock - $19.95 to $27.95 depending on condition. http://www.coledistributing.com/storefront.asp?i=&pageno=31&cat=Magazines |

I haven't bought any in a long time. But my experience with them is:
Curved German HK mags = true goodness Curved POF mags - no complaints here Straight mags - OK with ball ammo (which is all I shoot) All of them seem to me will last forever so I have my stash and don't figure I will ever need more. Never had an asian one. Best of luck. |

But that was about three weeks ago so I guess it would be worth checking out. I got the 25 deal from him a couple of months ago. They needed a little work done to about half of them (re-seating the spring) but seem to operate just fine. They are not, however, as smooth or as refined as the German mags from the factory. |
| I've had a little trouble with the straight mags in my clones. I thought it was an incompatibility problem but eventually figured out that two of them had weakened springs and a couple of others needed a good cleaning. You can get replacement springs, but they cost something like $8-$10 each. |

someone was selling straight HK mags in EE for $23 shipped just a few weeks ago...pretty sure he's sold out I'll take a look there too. I'd like to get about 10 curved ones total. I have 5 now. After that goal is met I'll get some of the sticks. I just sold my 9mm AR setup, so it's time to focus on the HK mags. I couldn't deal with 2 guns that both had $65 mags. |

What AR 9mm setup did you have that took $65 mags??? Colt mags aren't cheap. New are $65, used are often damn close, around ~$50. I didn't want to mess with the c-products mags until they got them sorted out. I kept hearing stories where people would order 20 mags and only 10 would work. I got the feeling that the distributors were sending out the old-type follows to get rid of stock and including some of the new-style ones just so the order work be partially functional and thus placating the customer. |

I tried the CProducts M16 9mm mags. They look great, and for me work great. For $18 vs $60, definitely worth a look. CProducts are the OEM maker for Colt now, I have read.
As far as HK MP5 mags are concerned, I have found them at $54 ea at Midwayusa with my C&R FFL dealer price. The straight ones do work, and are about $30 ea. |

but they were the straight ones. I hope they will function ok. Does anyone have any problems with the straight mags?
