Sure you can and I prefer the steel lower better myself even though I do like the ambi grip.
The funny part is that most people always wanted to switch out their steel lower when they have one for the lighter polymer.

Either way, it is just taking your trigger housing and trigger componets in the housing out of the polymer lower and putting them in a steel lower with the grip you want.
The problem may be finding one and the next is keeping up with how my foreign parts you'll have then if you find a HK steel lower.
If you can find a PTR steel lower that someone has and isn't using than it should be a non issue.

One will loose a few ounces going to plastic, but a new safety/selector switch will be needed. The plastic PG housing has thicker walls, steel safety version will not fit without mods.

i think some of it is cosmetic some prefer the look of the plastic ones i prefer the plastic cause im a lefty and its just
more comfortable for me.
i'll trade my  metal semi lower and selector and US made Grip for your plastic one with selector. it will not effect your parts count
if you install your JLD trigger pack .

Thanks
