Wanted opinions on this gun,ie how well does it work,if not 100 percent what it may cost to get it to that point and if it's worth the money? Also if it is worth me selling off my TLE RL2 and SLR-105 to get it,regretable but the only way I can justify getting one. HELP

CONAN56,

See my RANGE REPORT on my 10mm Vector MP5.

While my experience is not with the version that only shoots Forty Short & Wimpy, I will say that as long as you get a later production unit that's had some QC upgrades by Vector, you can't go wrong.  Mine is an earlier variant (with the threaded muzzle), but since it was an SBR, it sat at Vector awaiting transfer and was upgraded (ejector, extractor, BHO, etc) once the initial reports of problems came in.

One of the biggest factors in proper function is acquiring a selection of locking pieces and ensuring that you tune the gun for operation with your selected ammo.  I started with a 60-deg LP and then changed to a 70-deg LP, which resulted in 100% operation with the load I was testing with.  ALWAYS start with the strongest LP first and then switch to a weaker LP if you experience UNDERFUNCTION.  You never want to start with a weak LP and experience OVERFUNCTION (which is what a lot of ARFCOM/HKPRO/GLOCKTALK members did with their 10mm units initially).

You can see what I've spent in my review, and I'd still like to add the following:

  • Black Market Parts (BMP) full-auto carrier

  • B&T folding stock

  • Metal trigger box (JLD, Vector, or HK)

  • Bill Springfield trigger job

  • HK 3-lug flash hider

  • HK cocking handle and cocking tube support

  • Raptor-40 suppressor

  • Registered sear

Personally, I'd dump the Kimber and the SLR-105 (AK variant?) in a heartbeat for a clone of the MP5/40.  Those are far more easily replaced than something like this.

BTW, I was in CT last week.  Whereabout are you?
