I was thinking about keeping backups of all the internal parts of my SP89 clone.  Since it is my favorite gun to shoot I want to keep it running far into the future.  I bought an extra extractor, extractor springs, push pins, and bolt head from Black Market Parts and they all worked great.  I was looking at part prices on the internet and I have a question for you guys.  Why is a SP89 semi auto bolt carrier $300 and a US made full auto MP5K carrier from Black Market Parts $150?  It must just be a name brand thing.

I am all about saving money.  I realize that Black Market Parts is the new name for Top Notch, but if I can save money buying a cheaper part I usually do that.  Black Market hasn't screwed me yet on a bad part, but their shipping is crazy expensive. ($16)

What other parts should I buy in order to complete my spare parts box?  (Recoil Spring Assembly, etc...)  Any suggestions or comments would be great.  Thanks.

Not gonna touch the HK vs. SW/BW/etc. parts thing.

Anyhow, something I would add to your kit would be an Ejector.  A spare recoil spring wouldn't hurt either.

I guess I will stop using Black Market parts when I get some bad ones.  I know I am really close to getting flamed by the HK purists.

If they work for you, that's all it matters.
To me, the potential risk of using aftermarket parts can be out of spec and/or inferior parts.

The MP5K bolt carrier at Black Market is the only affordable one I have found.  Shouldn't it be legal to possess as long as you only have a semi-auto trigger pack and shelf receiver?

AFAIK, it's legal, as far as the law concerning HK firearm....

I remember reading around here somewhere that Vector shipped some of their semi auto MP5 clones with full auto bolt carriers inside.  The only SP89 bolt carrier I see on Gunbroker right now is $300.
