I'm getting a Vector V51 soon and i've been looking into some different kinds of .308 plinking ammo. I noticed the South African surplus ammo is really cheap, has anyone used this before? What about Wolf, does it run pretty good through your gun? Ive used wolf in my AK but that's a different story.  i'm not looking for match ammo but something that will at least run through my gun and not mess it up.

I use the South African surplus ammo in my H & K 91, M1A & my Armalite AR 10.  I have been using it for the last 6 months.  I think it is great, no problems at all !  The price is definatly right.  I think it is better than the steel cased Russian stuff

Some lots of the South African are dirtier than others and I have had a problem with one lot from '82 gumming up the chamber, but other lots not so, the ruskie Silver Bear steel case stuff runs fine in my JLD for plinking, the Port has been the best but it seems to have mostly dried up in the market
