I have been having problems with my SW5 to eject rounds. After playing around with it awhile I found that the mag being loose in the reciever was the culprit. Mine does not have a paddle mag release. Does anybody know a quick fix for this? Would the TAC-LATCH I have been looking at snug the mag up at all? Anyway it works fine when i hold pressure on the mag to the rear twords me when shooting. If the mag travels the other way it creates too much of an angle.  I am still going to replace some parts with hk parts, just waiting till knob creek:)

Is your SW5 built on a cast receiver?  Best I can recall, the cast receivers had a problem with loose magwells.  ARKAR

Get some JB Weld.  Figure out where the mag well needs tightening and put a dab there.  Try to put a little more than it needs.  Then, when it's dry, file it down until the mag fits.

I haven't tried this, but sugested it to someone once who supposedly made it work.

Its a new stamped reciever. It just dosnt have a paddle mag release, I was wondering if the paddle mag release aided in keeping the mag snug....forward. Also was wondering if that TAC-LATCH would do the same thing as I dont feel like shelling out 200+ dollars for a paddle mag release to be intstalled.

If it is failures to eject, I doubt the magazine would be the problem.  I would look at the ejector and make sure that it is high enough.  If not, your trigger group probably needs to be shimmed.  I have read that some will weld the ejector to get it higher and then file it back down to the correct height.

After the ejector is at the right height, I would look at the extractor and extractor spring.  I replaced mine for good measure, but I wish I would have test fired after fixing the ejector height as I believe that would have been the fix.

It's the ejector; it's a modified G3 and probably a tad too low.  So either build the tip up with weld or replace it with a real 9mm ejector.

What ammo are you shooting?

I switched to Wolf steel case and have had no extraction/ejection problems since.

Cheaper ammo fixed the problem, gotta love that!

If welding the ejector, only do the tail, the hole unit is heat treated. Welding the tip will make it weak. The tail is not much of a big deal.

When my SW5 had problems ejecting it was actually the extractor spring that needed to be replaced with an HK one. Once I did that all the problems went away.
