i just bought an Indep G3 any insight would be greatly appreciated

INDEP (Industrias Defensas de Portugal) replaced FMP. The FMP receivers were built by FMP and INDEP, who were and are contract HK suppliers. Century got into the game late, and imported a few FMP receivers, which were stamped "Imported by CIA Georgia. VT Manufactured by Indep. Portugal Serial IXXXX G-3." Some of these receivers were sold alone, and Century also built rifles here using these INDEP (Indep)(FMP) receivers, old FMP parts kits plus U.S. parts to build a legal clone. I don't think Century ever imported complete rifles, built on FMP receivers, for sale in the U.S. |
