We are all asking the same questions you are: What is going on at ORF? Where is Todd? Where are the pictures of the Presses and Dies? Where is his “Sample” gun that was being tested? When are the receivers going to be available? And last, but not least; is it August yet?

The answer is simply, no one but Todd knows. This is because he has chosen to keep his potential clientele in the dark and not even give us the common decency to say, “Hi” or “Go screw yourself” for the last 2 months. Worse yet, he passed out vouchers for a free receiver to all the group buy participants (yes, when this started it was a group buy), so now we don’t even have the grounds to complain, because it’s hard to complain about something that is free.

Now I guess it is my turn to take shelter

Jerad

O'yea if you want a nice gun and you want it sooner than never, do what Bones did; Get one of the SW receivers and a German HK parts kit, then have Jason at IGF build you a work of art.

You bring up some very old but still good points. Most importantly the fact taht since these are now free, there are no grounds to complain. This right here is a clue that a few here have chose not to pay attention to. There is only one reason that these became free, because ORF could not keep his word and deliver what he said he could. He had only one out to save face, the free option. It released him from all responsibility to this group buy. If this was orfs plan in the begining, the free receivers, then they would not have accepted ANY funds in the first place. Not to hard to figure out.

Too bad really, they USED to be a pretty cool company.

He finally delivered my Micro Galil after almost 11 months so maybe he's starting to catch up on his work.

I stopped in to see his shop a week or 2 ago.  I needed to drop off my HK53 clone to have it worked on ( I should know better than to try and clean a gun drunk...).  Also dropped of a HK11 clone I bought off the net that needs retimed.

His new shop is huge.  I saw 3 CNC machines, 2 huge presses.  He said that 2 more were on the way... the bigger ones he needs to stamp out US made receivers.

Several lathe and grinding machines... several work tables... lots of welding equipment.

I saw boxes and boxes of parts kits... mostly AK74 stuff, I think.

In any event, Todd continues to impress me.  Sorry you all have to wait.  Let's hope good things come to those who wait.

I bring up old points because there is nothing new to discuss, which is my biggest irritant. Like I've said from the beginning, if these receivers are going to take another year, then so be it; but for God sakes tell us so. Don't try and fool us into believing that they are just around the bend. I mean first it was the dies, then the sample gun, then August, and now he just ignores us. Maybe he meant August 2006?

I live not far from him and he has always treated me great.    I don't consider him a con at all.  He is a man of his word in my book.  Things happen.  I am sure he will come through.

Is your book a comic book? And which word is a man of? The one that promised pics opf the dies? Or maybe the one that said he had a sample out and would report back with how it worked? Maybe it was the one that said a BIG event would transpire in August? Your right, things happen. And in business, when they do, you keep your customers up to date and in the loop. That is how you keep and make new customers. But I am not sure Todd cares. I really think that he is banking on the fact he will have thye only 94 reciver out there and he figures he can just be an ass. Sounds an awful lot like the other Todd in the early SW days.

You can stick up for him until your blue in the face but the fact is, how he has handled this speaks very loud and very clear.

Yep, that is really the best thing you can do unless you want a Bobcat.  Buy yourself one of those SW stamped receivers, a nice parts kit, then send it to Jayson (IGF)

MP5 clone problem solved !!!

Oh, check this out, Grove has time to post this today :  ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=64&t=78666

I have serious issues with the guy !!!  No mystery as to why...

If he would get online and admit that he Lied misled everyone then the healing could begin, but he will never admit it !!!

Check this out, fellas that are still "waiting" ,  he will post in this thread just because I said that he Liedmisled everyone.... when for months he hasn't said a damn thing to anyone about the F-UP5 that doesn't even exist ! I seem to bring him out of the woodwork.... Go figure.

He will waltz in here and say things about getting all the kits in before the end of the year, etc, bs, etc, bs....

He will do this without the courtesy of a reach around

If he even has the balls to show up he will start giving the same old lame excuses.

Everyone that dealt with him in the past and a lot of AK oriented people still have his back because they really don't know how deep his little RF5 rabbit hole goes. I harbor no ill will to anyone that still stands by him because they don't have a dog in this fight. ORF may have once been a great company, but it isn't anymore.... no matter how many AK kits he can pull out of his ass
The RF5 people are not the only people he has screwed over.... ask around on other boards.

Anyway, m4hk33, the best thing for you to do is to go ahead and buy either a special weapons receiver or parts kit and get in line with IGF.... that way you will be in line and still have time to round up parts and work on other projects. If you wait on ORF you will be grossly dissapointed IMO.

Best of luck with whatever you do decide

OMT :  Fellas, be looking for my range report on my MP5-N, coming soon

Yea, I got in on the GB list for a SW receiver tonight, I can't look at this POF parts kit any longer. When my ORF receiver is available I'll pick up a German HK parts kit and have twins.

Jerad

Here is a link if you want in on the group buy.  The more people, the cheaper the receivers are.
