This may sound like a stupid question, but somthing on gun broker caught my eye. Are all the parts for these two weapons interchangable? From the manual that I have it would seem so, but a seller said that a MP5 barrel would not fit onto a 94. Is this true?

My guess is he is saying it won't fit legally. If you SBR the gun first then it is ok.

Physically? Despite the overall length, MP5 and HK94 barrels have the exact same dimensions.

The grip frames will not swap due to physical differences for reasons of legalities. To my knowledge, all other parts will swap.
