I have heard from a local dealer that Vector are crap, and have spoken to another guy who says he likes his Bobcat BW5 over his real H&K 94.  I have a Special Weapons SW45 that works great.  But what about Hesse?  Anyone here own one/shot one etc?  Anyone else have any comments on which clone (that they have had experiences with) is quality and which is crap?

DISCLAIMER:  'All clones are crap' - I know this is the general opinion of many H&K owners on this forum, so before you all flood my thread with this statement, I thought I could include it here, and keep the thread to the info I am looking for.

Just from what I've read here and elsewhere, my understanding is that Vector is good, Hesse is bad, and Special Weapons is now Bobcat and that they can be hit or miss (no pun intended).

I have no personal experience with any of them.  I'm just relaying what I've read and it may not be correct.

Vector is good, my bro-in-law has the V53.  My two SWs (SW3 and SW5) are both good shooters. Hesse (no personal experience) has a terrible rep.

I bought a Hesse 91 back about four years ago.  The first one would commonly drop fired cases down into the trigger pack requiring me to pull the weapon apart to clear the jam.

I took this rifle back to the gun store and traded it for another one.  This one had a mag well that was so tight I could hardly get magazines in it.  It failed to go into battery about half the time.

I took this one back and got store credit.  Too bad they wouldn't give me a cash refund.

Based on my experiences, I won't buy another Hesse.

I got a chance to see the Vector stuff at the Small Arms Show in Phoenix.  The V93's and V53's on the table looked great!  Nicely finished, nice furniture, nice welds, etc.

Editted to mention that there is a reveiw of some SBR clones in the current "Small Arms Review."  The author gives a nod to the Bobcat and the Vector.

I bet the guy who said Vector were crap was mistaking Vector for Vulcan.  Vulcan=Hesse=CRAP.  Vector Arms are not bad at all from what I have heard.
I too have a SW-.45-PDW and I like it a lot.  Sure, I would have preferred a HK MP5K in .45 ACP but, oh, wait a minute, they never made a MP5K in .45 ACP or any other MP5 for that matter.  I had accuracy problems with mine at first but SW replaced the barrel and all has been well now for several thousand rounds.
I've done things with my SW and PTR-91 that I would never think about doing with a multi-thousand dollar HK; that is the attraction of the clones for me.  It allows me to get some real fun play time in without risking damage to a very collectible HK-91.  There is no way in hell I would rip of rounds in my USC to the point the carbine was smoking and the barrel is too hot to touch, but with the SW and PTR, why the hell not?

Isn't Ohio Rapid Fire making HK clones on old HK factory tooling?  How do they compare?

I am pretty hip to which clones are good. My second HK clone (an HK33K copy) is coming soon from IGF.

I lucked out with my clone. It is a rare Century Arms model with a proper stamped steel receiver and wide forearm. 99% of Century is Hesse junk in a Century box. Mine is actually very nice, and shoots very well. To make it even better, I sent it to IGF for a proper HK muzzle brake and Envirotech refinish. Jayson also went through the entire gun, and made sure it was assembled properly with good parts.

Here she is:

Good clones:
