I bought (stole would be more accurate) it from a doctor who put it away after buying it from Fred Vollmer in 1985. He told me he had never fired it and I was skeptical, until I received the gun, sure enough it was in mint condition.

Looked like this Pic when I got it.  I added the factory 53 forearm, four pronged flash hider and, A2 stock.

Shoot's like a dream too!

Wow! That G3K is awesome!

What flash hider are you using? Is it SBR'd, or is it permanently attached at 16" OAL?

Did some more pimpin' on the G3 clone. I added a Simmons ProHunter scope (decent scope for the money), a genuine HK21E extended rubber buttplate, and a Blackhawk Industries cheek riser...

Bought an Insight M2/HK UTL for the USP45...

Thanks davidp14.  I guess I must have done something a little different while trying to post those pics.  I believe I used the image tag, however on another board which I am a senior member on, there is a way to preview your post before submitting it.  I'm new here and I guess I need to do that next time before submitting.  To answer your question, that is an HK SL8-1 conversion to an HK G36K SBR clone.  The exact weight of the firearm, I do not know.  It is however less than an SL8-1, since the barrel is only 12.5 inches long.

HKG36K,

Looks great!!!

Is that a real G36K barrel or did you cut down your SL8 barrel?

I would love to do an SL8 conversion but I don't want to use Speshul Wepunz parts, and no SBR's in WA so I can't use all German parts.

Its a very nice weapon for sure.
I've been thinking about doing an SL8 to G36 recently.  I'd just cut the bbl to 13.5" or so and perm. attach the FH though. (lazy mans SBR).

Sigurd - That's an actual G36K barrel, 12.5 inches in length.  I was fortunate to find on another website for sale about 2 1/2 years ago.
