I've got a kit build Fal and am having trigger reset problems.  About 75% of the time when you fire, the trigger does not reset.  It feeds and cycles perfectly, but the trigger stays back.  If you manually push the trigger forward, it will fire. I replaced the trigger springs and plunger with no effect.  Any ideas?

is the lower still in spec? Do you have all the springs in the trigger group? That trigger spring is pretty stout, I can't imagine it not allowing the hammer to go back forward....pics?

I'm assuming you have a metric FAL...

It's possible you have the trigger and sear springs mixed up or you have crappy US made springs. It's usually not the trigger plunger that causes this.

It's easy to get the US made springs confused because they look very similar. The OEM sear spring looks obviously different from the OEM trigger spring so it's not as easy to mix them up. The trigger spring should be stronger than the sear spring.

The next thing to watch out for is double firing if you've got a FSE FCG in there.

Make sure the pistol grip isn't too tight, as it will bind the plunger if you mash it down really hard.

I played with it a bit more.  If I pull the trigger and then immediately let go, it seems to work okay.  It's when I hold the trigger down after firing, that it seems to reset very slowly if at all.  I've attached a picture of what it looks like.  It's currently in a DSA Para lower.  Though I had the same problem when it was in a surplus Imbel one.  The trigger is FSE.

I just swapped the sear and trigger reset spring, and that didn't help.  Watching it operate it seems like the disconnect is dragging.  Might need to smooth it out a bit.

Okay.  Swapped out triggers with a surplus one, and had the same problem.  Then dug around through my bag of parts and found another spring that was shorter and slightly wider than the spring I'd been using.  Swapped that out and now it works.  Yay.  Now will swap out all the parts and put my FSE trigger back in as it feels about 5lbs lighter.  Though that might just be the super strength trigger spring.  We'll see.

Update: Swapping out the surplus for the FSE parts worked fine now that I've got the proper spring for the trigger reset.  Appears that victory has been achieved.

So I ended up using the spring on the right as the sear spring, and the spring on the left as the trigger spring.  It's working now.  I'd originally had the 2 right springs.  The left spring was in my box o parts.

Thanks for the help guys.
