Bought at a gun show for just under $1350
264 Surplus Rounds 11 Mags w/ pouches DSA Top Cover and Orig Top Cover Imbel FAL w/ new-ish (100 rounds through it) Imbel barrel (I think it is crome lined) First FAL, a guy I was talking to said something about it being a xxx58 something. I don't really know much about them. http://i45.tinypic.com/sy70gn.jpg |

I also noticed it has a 3 position safety, 1 marked E (right below the "S") and a third directly north of the trigger with what looks kind of like the shape of Alabama. The trigger is locked in this position, but what is this third position for? ETA: The Alabama-shaped marking could be a stylized D, I've seen mention of that, apparently for "double" or something similar, to indicate auto-fire. The more better known German markings are the S-E-F that H&K use so famously: Sicher- Safe Einzelfeuer- Semi-Automatic Feuerstoß (aka Feuerstoss)- Fully-Automatic I'd bet the S and E mean the same on yours. |

Yeah I knew the S and E meant safe and semi, I was just confused about the "D" |

Yeah I knew the S and E meant safe and semi, I was just confused about the "D" All I found was a mention on THR about it being a "double" or "dopplefeuer" or somesuch. Nothing definite, but I only did a couple quick Googles, and I do not have legendary-quality Google-fu. |

You made out like a bandit. I don't know about "bandit" status. $100 for the ammo $165 for the mags $60 DSA top cover That leaves $1025 for the rifle. Not a bad deal. I believe that the bipod cut Imbel barrels are indeed chrome lined. Where do you find $15 mags? Cheapest I have found are $20-25 |
