It seems like there's a lot to know about these rifles, but there doesn't seem to be a consolidated reference here. I'd like to ask that the experts weigh in and tell us what we need to know... What to look for in buying an FAL? Inch vs Metric pattern? Maintenance tips? Anything else that's just good to know?

If you want to know anything FAL that's the place to be. |

Here's a great place to start: The FAL Files Forum General Information page. Then read and search the actual forum page on The FAL Files Forum Weapon Specific Forum. Here's a link to a good page at M4Carbine.net, the FAL Variant Info Thread. The Teach Me About the FAL thread there is 12 pages (and counting) of very good info the along the lines you're looking for and then some. Great reading, enjoy. |
