| For new manufactured FAL's here in the US, DSA is the only way to go. Call and talk to them, and see if they can help you. There is a possibility someone has a like new Australian import they will part with for a small sum (not likely). Any of the prominent FAL smiths can build you one, using new parts, if they can find them. Sorry, not many options these days, compared to years ago. |

Who are the smiths? |
| CMP Armory built my FAL carbine. Flawless is one way to describe their work. |

Falfiles hasn't helped you? nope. Whelp, ya better just forget about it then, because there ain't a FAL made like that anymore new, if there ever was. Go buy a SCAR 17s and twenty mags instead, along with a bunch of Federal GM match to go with it.

Buy a DSA SA58 Standard. Go to Ironwood and order some wood furniture.
All done! I assume your concern about a "commonwealth" receiver is the inch vs metric thing. Steel mags are common, keep looking. |

Steel mags are common, keep looking. But what spec is the barrel? No one has told me. i think they are 1/10. I'll be happy. I also just noticed they offer options and upgrades to stainless steel. are these 410 SS barrels? I dont want aluminum recivers. is it really stainless? it says they offer European walnut. how does that look ? If i can make it look liek the second in the picture in OP. i'll be very satisfied. I've been met with opposition on this site so far. |

I just bought a pile of steel, metric magazines from The Sportsman's Guide at $20.00 each. I tested two of them and they're good. DSA has new ones for sale on the site for the same price, but a friend said they are Korean and not so great quality.
My SA58 is a steel receiver and a good shooter. |

All steel? upper AND lower? whats the barrel? CVM? SS? 1/11 or 1/10? |
| All uppers are steel, only a very few aluminum FAL uppers were ever produced and they didn't fair well over the 100 round mark. You can get lower aluminum but that is an option through dsa and not the norm. Not sure what the twist rate in surp barrels is but, it shoots any and everything. |

Quoted: Quoted: DSA uses new Badger barrels that have a 1x11 barrel twist and are cryogenically treated. I have a fluted medium contour barrel on my SA58 and it is not chrome lined. dsa says ALL their barrels are 1/10 Every DSA barrel that I have ever seen has been 1:11. This is the best rate for 308WIN/7.62NATO |

We are now standardized on the 1 in 10 twist regardless of barrel type. Thread patterns for all DSA barrels is 9/16 x left hand, and fluted Tactical Carbine barrels are all 1/2 x 28. . |
