Finally after almost 3 months of back and forth shipping of parts between me and DSA I got the correct parts!
I bought my FAL in early Nov and shortly afterward wanted to install their xseries furniture and one of their scope mounts. One would think that would be an easy order but after waiting a couple of weeks due to back ordered parts they arrived. I attempted to install the butt stock and immediately noticed a problem with the fit. The rear sight would hit the top of the butt stock and would not allow it to progress forward. I also had a very hard time pushing up on the take down lever and almost did not get the gun apart with the new stock on. To top it all off they had also sent me the extended scope mount when I had ordered the regular length mount.
Anyways I called and talked to a very friendly rep and after exchanging pictures via email he figured out that the butt stock was missing a new finishing steps. I got a return authorization number and sent the parts back in for exchange. After approx three weeks I emailed them to see if they had received/reshipped out my parts and about a day later I got a email stating they had just shipped that day.
After waiting a week for them to get here I opened the box to see the exact same parts I had sent them. WTF? So I called back and the guy didnt believe me at first, he thought I was playing a joke on him. After convincing him I was serious he gave me another RA# and repackaged them and sent them in for a second time.I waited for them to email me with the return shipping info but did not hear back from them for weeks. It took them a good couple of weeks before I received a shipping email from them
Well finally today I get a package from DSA and what did I see when I opened it? The correct parts. WOOO HOOO! Finally. I just hated that it took this long and was such a frickin disaster! I got them installed in a few mins and so far all is GTG. Now I have to go get some range time.
Here is a few pics.
You can see where the sight was hitting the top of the bad butt stock.
In this picture you can see the bad butt stock where they missed some of the finishing. It is very rough and you can see where my take down lever was imprinting into the butt stock when I went to break it down.
