Would this work?  Have any of you found other, or better, drop in parts for putting a scope on a FAL?

ARMS mount works but pricey. Checkout DSA's mount. http://www.dsarms.com/SA58-FAL-Extreme-Duty-Scope-Mount––-620A/productinfo/620A/

I personally was not happy with the ARMS mount I had... the slides eventually get loose and can flex. Maybe OK for a red-dot but not a scope...

The good part was it was easy to slide on and off for cleaning. The DSA, which I have now, is rock solid but does not come off without unbolting it...

When you order make sure you get the right one!  The fixed stock and folding stock covers are different.

Keep in mind that ARMS mount you linked from Amazon is not actually made by ARMS, it is made under license.

Good points.  I like that setup.  I was concerned about flex due to issues with a similar type drop in piece on my SKS which turned out to be useless.  I was better off with iron sights.

I was concerned about having to remove the iron sights until i saw this thread.  Looks like dude is running both, no probs.

Not a very good pic but here's my SAR-4800 with a Leupold 3x9 using low profile mounts and the rear sight still in place.

I use an ARMS mount and Weaver medium (or maybe low, can't remember..) rings to
mount a Nikon 4x scope on my Imbel receiver FAL.

It's been on and off my FAL many times and is still very tight.

I mount the scope as low as possible and forward of the rear sight.
The rear sight does not obscure the view through the scope.
