Okay, I might sound dumb but here it goes.

My friend is building a FAL for the 1st time, and he is building a STG58 on Imbel Gear Logo Receiver.
He encounter a weird problem with the fire selector.

While the  setting is on the FA mode, when he holds the trigger down while riding the handle back and forth, the hammer will also fall when the bolt/ bolt carrier returns to position.

Does this mean it might be Full Auto?
Can someone help out? Don't want him to get in trouble.

Use a semi safety.

No Sear cut or safety sear the hammer will drop but the rifle is a single shot in that mode.

Because the selector will move to that position its a good idea to get this, because local LEOs don't understand that its not a full auto.

Another option is a semi-only pistol grip.  It doesn't have the clearence for the selector to rotate to the A position.  For 922r compliance, a US made pistol grip meets the requirement, a US made selector doesn't.

Just makes sense, only change out what us have to.

Do you have a source for the semi-only pistol grip.  I had one at one time, but boogered it up trying to get one of those pistol-grip cleaning kits to fit, and I'd like to buy another one.
