| So I got 2 kits I'm gonna build soon. I plan on shorting the barrel to around 18inches. Should I cut the threads for the FH the same as they were or go with 1/2x28? I don't care much about keeping the gun orignal. Any reasons not to use a more US standard threading? |

1/2-28 is considered a bit 'thin' for use on a .308 barrel. 5/8 is pretty much the standard for US made muzzle devices on a .308 good to know. I see I can get a Vortex in the standard FAL twist. As eddienyr said, 9/16 is the thread for most FAL barrels, either left or right hand. |
