I'm familiar with the FAL, but I've never used one of these.  Any personal experiences?   What kind of shape are the surplus ones on the market now in?

They are a neat piece of kit if you have an L1A1.

I got one and cut the tabs on the dust cover so it would fit my
Imbel receiver.

For me the optic is too high. Never could shoot it right due to that.
Be advised that most of these are worn out. The optic and it's mount have fit
isuues that will have your zero wandering all over.

For the same or less $$ you can get a new Nikon or similar
scope that will work better on your FAL.

Scopes should be mounted as low as possible for best results.

I got one for the FAL but as stated above, the t bar on the dust cover would work loose (piss poor rivet attachment between two pieces of soft metal) and I tried to tighten them up a couple of times.

I got an AR mount and put it on my S&W M&P 15 and I love it.  Looks funny at first (vertical post/pointer sticks down from the top of the field of view) but you get used to it and see the sense behind it after awhile.  The light gathering characteristics allow you to see better when looking through it in low light conditions that you can see with the naked eye.  No issues with the unit on my AR yet.  I can take it off the mount (levers on/off) and use the BUIS then reinstall it and its still zeroed.

I like it so well I just bought another one a couple of months back for my next AR carbine.  If I find another one in good shape I'll buy it, too.

flat top mount and SUIT (can't remember where I ordered it from) on my S&W.  They make carry handle mounts, too.

I've had one about five years,it has been solid.  Retains zero, even with removal and replacement of the entire unit (I just pull the cover and slide in the SUIT one when I want to use it).

Anyone know if they ever made a SUIT topcover mount for Para Fal's?

Never seen nor heard of one.  But there was an OEM para top-cover mount for the OIP scopes.

I have two Trilux sights. One is on an FAL and the other is on an AR and I love them. They are built very rugged and are a great value compare to the ACOGs. Both of them hold zero after being removed. If I find a deal on another on I will pick it up. I would recomend them.

I have never heard of such an animal. If you want to mount a correct optic on a para why not go with a Hensoldt?

I'm selling my Israeli Trilux SUIT with a DSA railed top cover mount specific for a FAL on Falfiles if anyone is interested.  It's under the same screen name as here.
