16 inch FAL, 1:11 twist, what is the heaviest round you can shoot?

Logic says 172 grain but you will never know till you try 180 it may work fine. It has for me in M1A and Armalite Ar10 both have 1:11 twist.

My 18.5" 1:11 stabilizes 180 grain pills, though it's SP hunting rounds, and those are shorter than an equivalent-weight HPBT.

For that particular set up, I would personally stick with bullets in the 147g - 168g range.
