FAL Rail Interface Handguard Full Length - US021FAS
Are these two piece or one piece? Are there any decent two piece railed hand guard options for the FAL? I want to be able to mount a light, but I don't want to remove the barrel. |

UTG (Yeah, I know) makes a quad rail hand guard set that mounts without having to remove the hand guard ring.
I haven't used the UTG, but have the DSA unit. While it's the recommended procedure, you don't have to remove the barrel. There was a sorta review here awhile back about the UTG unit. Another option is to mount a short rail to the side or bottom of the stock handguard. |

Check out this old thread.
It's time to pimp out your FAL, yo! |

The DSA HG is a two piece.
It takes two minutes to put on. I've been using bi-pods with one and it's worked fine. You have to cut off the ring at the rear of the factory hand guards to install it. If you go with one, buy the two piece ring from DSA in case you want to go back to the old hand guards for what ever reason. |
| I have a DSA rail on a SA58cp. Its a very nice rail but it seems to add a lot of weight to the gun. Maybe its just in my head. I know nothing about how to install it besides what I read in a book so I can't say anything about it. Mine came installed from factory. You can get a railed top cover(maybe wrong part name) that makes one rail from the front to the back of the rifle. I don't think the UTG rail can do that. If you just want to mount a light..is there any other way to do it besides a rail? |
