Ok thanks to a new friend in the industry I have a prototype back. They have a long history with this stuff, so I didn't turn it out in my garage.

Intial impression I like it.

Low mount for the Micro on the FAL. It is not QD.

because to do so would be to high to co-witness.

My high res camera was stolen by the wife and kids so this is all I have:

now I need to check when my ammo is due in.

Thoughts?

Is it lower-1/3rd? With the smaller tube of the T-1 I might prefer not to have a rear sight in the way. I'd be inclined to just use the Aimpoint Micro throw lever mount so I could quickly remove the sight in the unlikely event it went down. But if it is lower-1/3rd maybe that's not a big deal.

If use of the irons must be immediate, that solution looks fantastic! Also it makes for a smaller sight/bore offset and better head position than any other solution I've seen. Very slick.

Also it's basically the lightest real red dot you can put on a rifle...and the FAL certainly can use whatever help it can get in the weight department.  Very nice.  When will they be available for sale?
