Have an STG 58 on the way and would like to change from the Stoll flash hider to a Steyr short FH.  I presume I just need to use something wedged in the slots of the hider to loosen/tighten?  (I know about the LH threading)

Do I need a crush washer for timing?

Most of the time I just used a piece of flat steel that fit in the slots.

I don't think timing the new one is needed like an AR 15 A2 FH.

DS Arms sell a washer for timing if you wish to do that to yours.

I just cut my Stoll down. Took five minutes with Mr. Dremel Tool.

Mine actually came with a Belgian short hider.  I picked it up yesterday.

I actually prefer it, due to length.  DSA must be putting whatever they have together and sending it out.  But I am content with it.

I'm gonna leave the Belgian on it for now.  May change to a Steyr short later if the mood hits me.

There's no need to "time" a STOLL flash hider.........it doesn't make any difference where the "slots" end up.
