I had my 18" para for a while and finnaly got a chance o shoot it a few weeks ago. Functioned well but shot low. Very dissapointing.

So I decided to convert it back to full stock config added some stuff I got laying around and made a "sniper" out of it.

too many the Para is the holy grail of FAL's.

After

Now to figure out what to do with the para kit

The FAL Gods demand that you re-install the Para kit at once!
<BSV-off>

and then try a shorter front sight pin......

DSA has a few sizes to choose from if I'm not mistaken....

I believe there are 5 different sizes.  You can tell the difference by the number of dots....0 through 4.

eta:  you remembered to adjust the front sight post to attempt to correct the low POI, right?

Ain't no more to adjust. got it to a nub and it still shoots low. It a problem with the rear site.

You have sinned, try a different rear sight before you give up.

I think SARCO had some FN or Imbel mfg Para rear sights.

You might give one of those a try.

Or call DSA, maybe they have a fix for this.

Yes, you have sinned but not for the reason you think. When you stated you converted it to sniper config that is where you sinned. See my signature for explanation.
PS- I am aware of those rare hyper accurate FAL's but they are the exception rather than the rule.

Get the Israeli rear sight.   Fixed that issue right up on my 16" shorty.

Interesting.....  Why is that?  Does the stock interfere?

Actually the forward hinge block is the piece that gets in the way. It comes up past where the  standard rear sight protrudes past the rear of the lower receiver. Don't remember if it was the South Africans or another African nation that carved out the top of the front hinge block to use the standard rear sight. It did remove a lot of material that supports the top part of the hinge the way they did it though.
