I've been considering a DSA tactical para carbine but I was wondering if anybody knew what kind of accuracy I can expect.  Thanks

Not to be a salt, but;

How accurate are you?

It is as accurate as any other MBR IMHO.

This is a target using South African surplus and sighting in my EoTech.  DSA SA58 Para at 50 yards.  Two separate groups with an elevation adjustment in between.

I don't think that is too shabby for a red dot sight and surplus ammo.

Simple answer:
Expect 2-4 MOA depending on ammunition used, maybe 1-2 MOA with match or handloads if you're lucky and you stumble across a particularly accurate specimen.

Soap box answer:
The FAL is more than accurate enough for it's intended task. If your intended task is not the same as what the FAL was designed for you will probably be happier with something else.
If your desire is to own the best all around battle rifle ever then you're choice is perfect.

With that said, my DSA tactical is slightly more accurate than my 16" SA58C with all four flavors of surplus and factory ammo I have fed them. I have read elsewhere that the fluted barrels are thought to add a bit of stiffness which may help a bit but it may just be normal variation between guns.

My DSA STG love's FGMM 168 HPBT...Everything else is 3or4 inches at 100yds that's surplus and factory Ammo alike and I've run alot through it to find something it want's. I cant tell you how well it shoot's the Federal cause you wont believe me!

Mine (SA-58 Predator, and SA58C) were 2-5 depending on ammo.  My stock Bushmaster barrel AR was 1.5-3 depending on ammo.  They are not itty-bitty group rifles and I already made the mistake on one of trying to force it to be.  When you use it as it was designed.... it's great.

I find that the closer to 150 grain you stay with the FAL the more accurate it is.  If I get too heavy a bullet it opens up more, but that may just be me.

My friend has years and years of experience with FAL's, and his 21" Steyr barrel can't group for shit with FGMM.It prefers M80 ball and groups extremely well with it (for a FAL) For example, the GGG shoots just a little over 1" group at 100 yds.

What's the twist and make of your barrel ?

Once I get my scope,I will be performing some experiments with FGMM and my 18" Wilson barrel and see if I can group any better. My old eyes(and ammo prices) have forced me to get a scope and adjust my shooting habits.

Never thought I would be punching paper with a FAL

Isn't the twist rate of the Steyr barrels a bit slower than what is offered by DSA from their in-house barrels?
I just seem to remember hearing this a number of years back but that might not be the case any longer.

I concur

I also concur. Too heavy of a bullet produces shotgun pattern.
