Hey guys, I have a DSA FAL that I want to scope. I'm looking for a good quality mount. So far my choices are DSA's mount, an A.R.M.S. mount, or a GG&G mount. I've searched here, but hsve come up dry. Does anyone have feedback on the above or have an opinion on another mount? Thanks.

I have a DSA mount on mine.

It is GTG.

The DSA is a good mount and so is an ARMS.

One good thing about the ARMS is that it won't scratch the finish
on your receiver like some of the other will.

I use the ARMS and like it. Holds zero when removed and re-installed.

Cheers,

I use an ARMS mount. I used to have the DSA mount, but I didn't like that it really can't be taken off for cleaning. You have to use locktite on the screws otherwise they shoot loose, and it's bigger/bulkier than the ARMS mount. I didn't even know GG&G made a FAL mount.

I have had several versions of the DSA mounts and have love them all.  I have never seen scratches on my receiver from using them.  I have seen finish wear underneath the mount when I switch from one version to another.  I'm able to clean my rifle without removing the mount.

No locktite on mine. Screws haven't budged. And mine's the older model with only four locking plates.

They have more than 4 plates now?

Mine both shot loose.  I switched to hex-heads for my scoped rifle and it has never come lose since that.   I am waiting for another shipment to replace the screws on my new carbine too.

I have a blue-glued chezoid Tapco early model, and since it is easy to wipe inside the rec, it has not been off for 5 years. Whatever you get, take care to set the screws for a true/plumb cover so your 100yd zero does not drift farther out.

Whatever cover, consider the ARMS weaver/stanag adaptor base for a Hensoldt.

I would go locktite just to be on the safe side.  Those screws are like a $1 each from DSA.  So if you lose one that's about $5 (if you count shipping)

The DSA mount does mar the finish on the receiver, but hell it's a battle rifle, your suppose to have a couple of blemishes here and there.  Also why do you need to take it off for cleaning?  Just clean around it.  I installed mine about 2 years ago and have yet to take it off.

Williams QD Pro.  Now defunct company, they show up occasionally for about $100.  Solid one piece with rail, nothing to mess about with and as light as you can get.

I bought the DSA Zero Movement mount and was very impressed until I realized I wasted my money by putting a scope on the FAL.

Now I'm back to irons and am much happier.

I like either a quality 1X optic or something relatively low power.  I see some rigs with these 4-16X scopes on them and I'm sure they are going to lead to disappointment but, but maybe some will get lucky.  I positively LOVE my EOTech on the carbine though.

LOL. Yep. Kinda like putting a turbo on a bicycle. You can do it, but it ain't going to do anything but get in the way.

What is the model number of the ARMS mount. I could not find it on their website?
