OK, so I have a DSA STG58 and need to remove the flash suppressor.... tried heat and a big screwdriver...and was afraid to go too far for fear of breaking one of the tongs on the flash suppressor.... is this thing pressed/glued or what? The guy at DSA said it'd screw right off...Right! Thanks! |

yep. Left hand threads if it's a Stg58 instead of SA58. (I wouldn't use a flat file only because they're brittle. When they break, they usually have very sharp edges....if you've been torquing it, it's gonna take some ass to move it. I'd use a screwdriver or wrench instead) |

Yep yep yep... who'da thunk lefthand threads....its not like the bullet's gonna unscrew it? Now that its off, I have an Entreprise "zero rise" brake (with the proper threads)...it allllmost indexes properly, but not quite.. So. It looks like a half-inch OD real thin shim with a .310+ hole in it would fit properly, bein's it bottoms out on the muzzle rather than a shoulder, i'd like to not have to screw it on real tight (like hand tight w/red loctite?) so's not to put undue pressure on the muzzle of a rather thin barrel. Anybody have suggestions on how to properly index the brake? Thanks! PS, I just installed one of the JARD triggers.... much like their version for the AR15 (I've used 2-3 of those and they work nice)...the dryfire pull is real nice (I got the 3.5# spring)... remains to be seen if it holds the adjustments, but, again red loctite workee. |
Colt45guy, You should also check out DSA...I ordered one for my STG-58 (Austrian/Steyr barrel) as my flash hider wasn't timed exactly perfect (yes, I'm extremely anal) from the factory. DSA Index Washer Cheers, Sakic #19 |
