Why weren't they more popular before the ban? Cost? Or did people just prefer the AR? Does anyone make a US vesion like DSA? |
| They werent popular before the ban, because before the late 80s, not many military weapons were popular. Look at the relatively few numbers of HKs that were sold over the years prior to the ban. They did cost more than domestic weapons new but not much more. I bought an FNC for 350 dollars and paid 850 I believe for a NIB HK 94A3 with 3 mags and the shroud. When I bought the HK, Colt wanted almost as much for an AR15 so I dont think price was the issue. I remember seeing HK91s sitting on the used racks for 4-500 dollars, less than AR15s were bringing. These companies just didnt advertise heavily in the US, seems like US civilian sales were sort of an afterthought. |
The Bans of 89 and 94 did more for gun sales than any advertising campaign could have. |
