Found this picture in another thread and now I want to build a FAL pistol:

(Actually its a FAL SBR with the stock closed)

Best part is no US parts would be needed. Wish I had a spare FAL laying around. In fact maybe I'll rip apart one I already have built to get this project going. Just remembered, once a rifle always a rifle, looks like I'll need to find a new receiver if I really want to do this.

I wonder if DSArms will sell me the front end without a tax stamp if I tell them I'm building a pistol.

Opinions Appreciated

Just wanted to add a shopping list:

DSArms 11" or 13" front end
Para Top Cover with rod & spring
Para Bolt

And I'm guessing I could use a standard lower but I'd need to modify it to remove any way of attaching a stock. Any thought on the best way to accomplish this?

Just SBR it!  Unless you can't in PA.

You might be able to use the folder mech. that attaches to the rec, and gring off the folder lock, until it's flush.  You could even get fancy and instal a sling swivel.
