| What kinda accuracy do you guys think I could expect out of a ss DSA sa58 with a16" cryno treated barrel? Also what would be an approximate effective range against moderate sized targets? |

I don't have the exact measurements in front of me, but I know that my STG will group at around 2 MOA out to 300yd. From 300-500 I seem to be running around 3-3.5 MOA. Probably the shooter, not the rifle. This is with handmade loads using surp. bullets, commerical case and the like. I know that I can be on 18"x20" steel all the way to 500yds with irons more often than not. YMMV. |
| With a 16" bbl and surplus ammo you will not notice the difference in accuracy between it and a 21" in bbl at 100m. You will loose some muzzle veloicity but again out to 100m it is not enough to get worked up about. Why would you shoot a 16" bbl rifle beyon that range? A short bbl rifle is for up close work say out to 100m. Beyond that get a longer bbl for better accuracy. Just my 2 cents. |

Actually, jaeger_1969 sums it up pretty well, the difference between a 16" and 21" barrel is somewhere in the 150 fps range. For a 7.62 it's about 30 fps per inch of barrel.
Dunno man, 144 grains of wind bucking love will sure beat out a 5.56 in my book. |

Some of you seeking better accuracy from your FALs may want to check out these tested and proven trigger pull reduction springs Generally speaking they have been proven to safely reduce a military grade FAL trigger pull by 50%. Combine that with a simple polish job and you end up with a very nice trigger compared to the normal FAL trigger. I dont know about you guys but the better the trigger and ammo - the better I shoot |
