I'm working on a different project right now, but I need to ask you guys a question or two. I recently ordered a stock set from Volunteer Ordnance Works out of TN. The order went in on the 10th of December. I don't have my stock set, I wasn't called or e-mailed about a backorder/other problem, my credit card has already been billed, and they aren't communicating with me. Have you had any experience with this company? Are they always like this, or am I experiencing a lot of bad luck? If anyone has any feedback, positive or negative, please let me know, it is kind of annoying not being able to finish a project.

How did you place the order?  You might want to call them.www.falfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=111288&highlight=folding

I think Brownells has them as well you may want to try there, or wait till Knob Creek in April, and just ask him what is going on.

I placed the order through the web site that is linked to FALfiles. I sent an email to that address as well as one that is mentioned as the easier way to get in contact with him. I haven't heard anything. I sent the second message last night. The first was a week or more ago.

Weird - I've always had good service with them.  As I recall, when I ordered an Ironwood stock set from him, it took a while to arrive, but no problems communicating.  Call him and find out what is going on.

Thanks for all your help guys. Dan just e-mailed me, he's moving shop and has a bunch of stuff going on. He said he'll send it out in the next 48hrs, so I feel much better about the deal. Thanks for restoring my faith in this guy. Next build/conversion may very well be a FAL, in which case I may be dealing with him again.

Dan just had serious back surgery also. He does a lot on his own.
We had a FAL group build at his place a few years ago. He's a great guy and you won't get ripped off.

Well, I'm beginning to lose patience/faith in him. Ordered on the 10th of December. Sent E-mails in Late Dec and Early Jan. Told him that I would probably have to change shipping address since it was taking so long. He replied to my first e-mail on the 5th of Jan, saying he would ship it within 48hrs USPS Priority mail. E-mail from him saying he accepted payment (several weeks after my credit card had already been billed) on the 8th of Jan. I've been checking with my parents (where it was originally supposed to go while I was at home for Christmas) more or less every night to see if it came in. So far not, and I haven't gotten it here. I know what USPS timetables look like; 6 + days to go from Tennessee to Utah (where I am right now) or even Washington is more than sufficient, especially for a priority package. This is getting annoying.

And I thought I was the only one to get bad customer service all the time. I'm always patience and polite when talking to companys but it looks like I need to start getting rude when ording stuff
I've never ordered from VOW but it looks like he dropped the ball on you big time. Good luck getting your stuff.
