Aluminum or steel?  Price is the same which do you like better?

I prefer the steel mags.  I pick up some aluminum mags to try out.  I like them because they are lighter.  The aluminum mags seem like they will not last as long as steel.  They bend easily and the feed lips can easily loose its shape.

The aluminum mags will not drop free when you hit the mag release.  Go ahead and get both and see what you like the best.

FWIW, the only Fal mags I've had fail on me were aluminum.  I bought 8 of them 3 died with in a couple of months.  I've got about 15 steel ones that haven't given me any troubles.  I can't say if its coincidence or not.  But just the same I dont buy alum mags anymore.

The $3 steel 20s from MGS have worked VERY well for me - great deal, great service... I believe that the steel mags are likely more durable, but that the aluminum ones will probably last a long time... One thing I can say about the steel ones, is that the feed lips can be reshaped with them if necessary - and they'll still function just fine...
