![]() Laserspeed Goes Legit: The M6-TR Hop has added his opinion now to the M6TR. In a nutshell, he likes it. That's good reviews now from 4MR Ranch, Hop, and Thin Line Defense, who all have great reviews on the product. Thin Line Defense probably has been the most critical of the device that I've seen so far, but I'd say it was still an overall favorable review. I know from Instagram that BrassFacts is also evaluating the M6TR and should have a video soon, this will be a nice addition to the reviews because Hop is left handed so that will be helpful for our wrong handed brothers. |

If you feel that original designator is too strong, you will really like the attenuated model. I have bought two from u/justherefortheguns and he is great to work with and ships fast. |

What did it cost if you don't mind me asking? I'm up to my ears in lasers but always curious to see what's out there. |

I had no idea they were going to make them in FDE. I guess i will be back in the market for an FDE one this time. |

I'm going to wait and see how the VWS diffuser does with it and wait to see some reviews on the Cold Harbor Supply version. What kind of design it? I think it should be a two piece, one for the laser and then a second cap that goes over the first one and that one takes on the illuminator. This way you can have a powerful illuminator for long range that’s undiffused but a laser that won’t blot the target out. And then for when you want a diffused illum, well you’re always gonna want a diffused laser then since you’re probably close in range. So yeah two piece diffuser, first is laser and then second cap goes over illum. That should be the design goal and I don’t think anyone else would be worth it. |

So the future batches will have a diffuser from the factory? I'm very interested to see reports on how that works. |

This is what he told me a couple months ago but it sounds like the most recent batch does not have the diffuser, so they are probably still in development. Villain Weapons Systems has noted that they, too, are working on a diffuser for the M6TR. |

Looks good, new pressure pad and the attenuated version is the way to go. Now we just need the diffuser cap either from Laserspeed or Villain Weapon Systems (VWS), whoever comes out first with it. I prefer if it just came with the unit rather than having to pay more money. |

| Tried swapping a new modbutton on the first one, now the crane port is dead. Laser still works, just no switch will work. Guess I get to find out how the warranty process works now. The ports are definitely a little snug. |

I've had mine replaced one already through reddit guy. I was a pretty worried I was going to get hosed but it was painless. I had to tap my modbutton crane plug in with a small rubber mallet. I'm just treating it as permanent and hoping the modbutton doesn't take a crap anytime soon.

I give them credit - they are an order of magnitude more receptive to run of the mill user feedback than "legacy" laser mfgs. I may just have to give one of these a shot |

Although I give Wilcox credit for offering their crane port adapater for the RaidXe pretty quickly after user feed back on it, just sadly that unit is over the top feature rich and as a consequence absurdly expensive. |

You see this in other industries. Smaller/newer companies tend to be more agile and dynamic and much more willing to bring in customer feedback and rapidly evolve products to gain market share. Then the legacy companies are all like, "why did we lose market share?" |

Then the legacy companies are all like, "why did we lose market share?" Agreed. The unfortunate reality of this extremely niche market is that there isn't a strong, market-driven process to hold those domestic legacy players accountable for their nonsense. They don't really care what we think so long as they can continue winning govt contracts. If L3 never sold another ATPIAL-C, I genuinely don't think it would amount to a rounding error on their overall P&L. So why should they care? |

Villain Weapon Systems over on their Instagram just showed a redacted picture of the M6TR with their diffuser cap and stated that it should be released soon. I know some are waiting on the Laserspeed factory diffuser, but it looks to me that VWS is going to beat them to release. I'm excited to see how good of a job that it does, but if it's like any of his other diffusers it should be pretty awesome and reasonably priced. If it performs as expected then there really is no reason to not buy the attenuated M6TR other than perhaps the risk that you could get one with a crane port issue, but that's what warranties are for. The primary competitor to the M6TR appears to be the highly anticipated Holosun IRIS, but my understanding is that the IRIS had to go through a redesign and then back to FDA for approval. If it went to FDA anytime in the last two months you can count on a long delay due to the holiday season. Plus, production probably will not go into full swing until Holosun has the FDA approval and it could take easily a month for units just to ship to the USA and get through customs. I don't reasonably expect the IRIS to show up until the end of the first quarter of 2025, at the earliest. So, I think the M6TR right now is unrivaled in terms of performance and cost ratio. It will be interesting though to see what the IRIS costs when it comes to market and whether that will impact the Laserspeed's cost? I would welcome some competition that benefits us consumers when it comes to price. Imagine a world where you could buy a damn good MFAL at aound $750 to $800. Civilian night vision users would have finally reached the "Holy Land" at that point. ![]() Next big steps will be decreasing the cost of thermal and hopefully at some point the cost of analog night vision tubes or seious advancement in digital night vision. I'd love to live in a world where more civilians had night vision and the assessories, because that would inevitably lead to more night shoots being hosted and more training opportunities throughout the country. I've already seen the MILSIM community go from just a few rich kids running Night Vision at events ten years ago to it being pretty much the norm now. We are bringing our Founders' dream of a well regulated Militia to fruition and in so doing slowly strengthening the security of our democracy for generations to come, it's cool stuff. |
| I talked to the vendor about mine, he gave me some tips and I was able to get it working again for a while, but it stopped after a bit. I'm going to send it in when I get home in a few weeks, maybe I'll get one with an adjusted port size. |

Cold Harbor Supply showed a picture on their Instagram story yesterday of the new M6TR with the White Light Head that is coming out shortly. Keep your eyes open for it and let us know the specs of the white light if you see them. Hopefully, Laserspeed has improved the crane port on those. |

| So I was extremely lazy and didn't get around to sending my FP M6TR until the middle of September, it didn't make it back until a couple weeks ago. Apparently it had to make the trip to China and back for repair. I'm at work now, but when I get back in a couple weeks I'll report on whether or not the crane port seems to play better with modbuttons. |
