How did you mount that VFG to the URX3.1 without a picatinny section? The black one 10.5"ish one in the middle

Just grind off the mlok tabs.

The hole spacing of the magpul mlok vfg is identical to the kac rails.

Good to know. I'll have to give that a try. Standard screws that come with the VFG and everything?

Yeah but you obviously can't install like mlok. You have to hold the nuts in place inside the rail while you install the screws.

Much easier with the URX3.1 where you can slide the halves apart!

Yeah, I’ve had it for a few years now.  Haven’t seen one retail for a long time and second hand market is ridiculous.

Sadly, with KACs current backlog, we may well be on to the next big thing before we ever see components readily available again (as much as you could ever say that about KAC parts).

I love secret service clones. They’re good looking rifles. I’m going to use the mid length 3.1 to do another with a LW barrel.

It didn't stay black for long.

I really did contemplate leaving it all black but I've already got one of those.

My collection of stupid builds:

Impatiently waiting on that BCG and Barrel drop

The classic Mk12 Mod 1 in a surplus issued pelican case:

The holy grail VB marked for the MP5, courtesy of New Old Stock from Monty of Centurion Arms. Added an old marked optic rail too.

10.75" URX 4 in a 9mm build, using CMMG Radial Delay BCG, 5.5" barrel, and 3 lugged Obsidian under it all. Honestly shoots just as smooth as the MP5 with 147gr handloads.

URX 3. 8.0 chopped and squared down to 6" length, dedicated 22lr build with CMMG 4.5" barrel and Oculus under it all

Saving this one, VB marked RAS with Taupe panels and grip, waiting to finally plunge into the M203 game.

The one I should have never sold, URX 2 rifle length PN 20547. Also had a URX 3 PN 30005 i should have never let go.

Pretty much my entire safe and spare parts now. Only a handful of my ARs have a rail that's not KAC or a DD RIS 2. Even the spare parts drawer is just more of them waiting for builds

Thanks, its a 2.5-10x for those that don't recognize it. I don't have time behind nightforce and the fancy glass some of you guys typically post pics of, so I don't know how you'd feel about it. But the glass looks good to me.

I like the design of the scope and the reticle. I don't need 1x because I'm using the red dot, and 10x is a decent mid range magnification level, but I wanted to be able to adjust the parallax and also be able to use the grid reticle at magnifications other than max, so ffp was necessary. It's relatively lightweight compared to other scopes with similar features.

the chevron reticle doesn't bother me, but I'm not using it as a precision optic. I also never dial, so I'm glad it has locking turrets.

Overall, it had the features I wanted. I picked it up used on the EE for $500 so the price was right, as well.
