I  sent  order  in  the  mail  on  the  1-31-2017  to  the  cmp  I  got  the  rm1  special  field  grade   2day  and  I  must  say  it  was   WAY  nicer   than  I  was  even  hoping  for  the  first  4  of  the  serial  num  is  3755  any  know  much  bout  that  serial  num  area  ?  thanks

3.75 mil is late WW2 , april-may 45 , Springfield ended around serial 3,882,000

Pitting is said to give the rifle character, even at the expense of value and collectibility.

But anyone who's just now getting into the "collector" end of the M1 game better have some really deep pockets, and even more, know exactly what you're looking at before you lay down hard cash.

If your only looking for a decently accurate shooter, that's different. The M1 "Specials," which the CMP has been parting together with new Criterion barrels, have garnered a reputation for great accuracy if the guy behind the trigger does his part.

sorry   my  bad  I  mailed  it  on  jan - 24   and  it  was  at  my  door  feb - 1
