I'd say buy it. The Canadian guys love theirs, so maybe they can chime in.

My favorite M14s are Poly Tech, and M14s custom built on Poly Tech receivers.

What are you plans for this one?

I had one, great rifle, very accurate.  Just NEVER shot it and ended up trading it for my AR-180.

On my particular rifle, had I kept it, I would have gone over it a bunch with tung oil and steel wool.  I had done a test spot on the inside of the stock, and the wood can end up looking REALLY pretty.

I have heard of that on M1As but not on the M14S.

Happened on mine. Not a big deal as long as the CH wasn't side loaded and pulled at a moderate speed to the rear.

Already ordered a usgi bolt for it. I know it'll have to be fit. And I'm lookin for a usgi stock but have heard everything from they drop in to needing slight mods

Warbird and Smith Enterprise perform an excellent GI bolt conversion without replacing the original chrome lined barrel.
If the op rod spring guide pin is original short pin you need to perform the Popsicle stick mod (or equivalent).

I used Warbird and was very happy with his work.
