Thinking about mounting a scope on my M1A. I like the looks of the CASM mount.
CASM Mount. Anyone have any experience with this mount, or give me your recommendations for others. |

CASM - hands down favorite.

Another vote for Sadlak. I considered the CASM but I don't like that it completely eliminates the rear iron sight. |

Basset Machine. Have an Arms, Sadlack airborn and a few others kicking around. BOTH of mine are sitting with Bassets on them right now. Return to zero close enough to shoot clay pigeons at 400 yards all day. I like being able to use mine as a battle rifle or a scoped rifle when ever I want. The #1 reason I went with Basset.

| Hmm no one has recommended the mount I use. I use the Smith Enterprises mount. Has always worked well for me. I generally find things that say US Property and have an NSN number generally do work well...Ooops sorry I see H20 did mention the SEI. Besides being US Military approved and used what I like about the SEI is that it not only leaves my sights alone, but I can still use them with the scope attached. You have to get down snug on the cheek pad but it's doable. |

I currently have a Sadlak steel airborne lightweight FS in the EE. Great mount, just won't work with my EBR. As much as I love this mount, i don't want to mod the mount or handguard on the ebr to fit. I've found a recon-x will suffice my purpose. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_7_134/1504996_WTS__Sadlak_Airborne_steel.html |

For collectors, the classic is the Brookfield Precision mount with "U.S. Property" marking.
The Sadlak is identical to the classic Brookfield Precision except that it has a standard Picatinny rail (regularly-spaced transverse slots versus the irregularly-spaced slots of the Brookfield). The Sadlak is actually superior to the Brookfield for that reason, although it doesn't have as much collector value. |
