Afte six years in the safe I decided to scope my new "shot once" M1A Standard. Long story short it shoots high right. Gunsmith placed the Barreled Action on his milling machine and laser it out. Looks like the Barrel is not square to the receiver. Will know more as in if its a barrel, receiver, or both problem when he takes it apart.  This is going to cost me. Anybody have this problem with Springfield M1a's? What would you do to make it right? Thanks.

Send it back to Springfield and let them fix it, and do it before your gunsmith touches it.  That is what their "Life time warranty" is for. Call Springfield, explain the problem, and they will probably tell you to return it to them.

I'd find a new " Gunsmith ".

If there really is a problem SA Inc will fix for free or replace the rifle. Send it to them first.

How does it shoot without the optic? If it is accurate without it is probably an issue with the mount/ optic. Honestly these beg to be shot with iron sights!

Springfields are known to have alignment issues with optics mounted on the integral slots,  I believe.

Yes, try the irons first and then see.  If it's bad then yeah, Springies warranty is supposed to be fantastic.
