What's the skinny on this thing.  Currently on sale for $83.  I'm tempted to get it but would like to know if it's a POS before I drop the coin on it.

Any opinions are appreciated.

Ehh... I tend to stay away from aluminum mounts... They peen up, fire loose, etc.  The only aluminum mount I have is part of my ART II, but that's just the way it is.
But... I've had a Gen 3 that stayed put and tight... But, it gets peened up, and then has absolutely no resale value.
Get an ARMS #18, or Basset, if you want an economical mount.  Sadlak or a Brookfield if you have the coin....

I'll look into Sadlak and Brookfield.  I rather suspected this wasn't that great of a product but thought I'd take a chance for ~$80-ish bucks if it was decent.
