Very good friend of mine called me over the weekend and asked if I could catch up with him, he needed some help with some guns his step mom had inherited.
I caught up with him tonight was a beaming from ear to ear looking for values. 1Complete Springfield m1 dated 1940 by serial number a little better than rack grade. 2 complete springfield m1 nm built rifles, in the original shipping box fro Camp perry dated 1979. Both being 44 dated recievers. 1 complete Springfield m1 nm. Built up 42 dated receiver. 1 1976 m1a with redfield target sights. All Springfield except winny TG. 1 very very nice shape arisaka Any help would be appreciated, he is lookin for real world values. |
| if you have documentation to support that the national match rifles were released that way by the government and that the rifles have not been messed with since they would be worth in the range of 2000. Drawing numbers etc mean nothing as national match rifels were built from stocks of parts selected for fit and function without regard to maker or drawing number. M1A in the same price range. The other look at what a cmp rack grade goes for and use this as a guide |

Get some good pictures together, with the drawing numbers, markings on stocks, etc. Check out http://forums.thecmp.org/ The guys over there are a fantastic resource for this kind of thing, and will be able to tell you a very good range of price for the Garands. That is quite a haul to inherit...
