The above post the nail on the head!

The M14 Forum has a section where extremely experienced folks post information that can not be had from books. A couple of the guys have been sharing information and insight to the M14 rifle that is only gained from years of working on the rifle.

You will spend hours, maybe even days, reading the posts. Lots of insight into the working of the rifle and even the little things that have been tried to improve it.

The Culvers Shooting Page has always been a high quality site for all things M14 and M1 Garand. Many hours of reading there as well.

Read and save everything Gus Fisher posts. You will use it as a reference material later.

Jouster has good info but the site can be a pain to navigate.  Also, they don't tolerate a lot of nonsense over there; the ban hammer falls quickly and often.  M14forum is good as well.  I hang out there occasionally.  My impression is that it attracts a somewhat older crowd; be nice and you'll do fine.  But they can get a little testy if you stray off the M14 orthodoxy.

I like this one as well. Very grown up and no trolling....No pissing matches and no flame wars. Definately no beating of dead horses
