The trigger must take 20lbs to fire the gun. I called cmp and they said the sear is not releasing, any way fix it without sending the gun back. They want the whole gun back not just the trigger assembly. Thanks

Check this area, do you see a faint line in the wood? If so you need to remove alittle wood as the trigger is hitting making hard trigger pull. Common on new commercial stocks but can also have same issue on USGI
Have you completely dissasembled the trigger group/cleaned and lubed ?

If you cant figure it out on your own CMP will send a prepaid label to ship rifle back.

I would send it back to the CMP since it will not cost you anything PLUS they will go over the entire rifle and make it RIGHT.

If its a simple stock clearnece issue why bother CMP. Commercial stocks especially are known to have fitting issues. Every commercial CMP stock I have used I had to do alittle work on

I have to agree with this. Learn to diagnose and fix your own problems. Garands triggers are fairly easy to work on and parts are easy to get if something is broken.
