I finally finished my M1A project I started a couple of weeks ago. Of course it snowballed into more than I had originally planned.

At first I just wanted  long forward rail on the bottom and two short sections on both sides of the surplus fiberglass stock for a sling attachment and bipod and or forward grip.

I got that finished and dug out a scope mount I had laying around for a few years. While I love the iron sights on my M1a my eyes just aren't what they used to be so I find scopes much easier to use these days. I stole a 1x4 vortex scope off one of mt ARs and I like it so far even though I haven't use that scope yer on either gun. I don't want some huge high powers thing since it is more of an all around rifle and not a precision rig. Of course the cheek height issue reared it's ugly head and I was looking at some sort raiser. While looking around the Vltor stock was looking interesting but i already have too many stocks for this thing and I didn't want to do any rail fitting on a new stock. I then found they sell just the rear half and you graft it on to your stock. Yahoo, another project to take up my time and money. I swapped out the emod for a CTR with a cheek raiser so I can run the tube in the lower position and just pop off the raiser if I want to. Thee I tried a large battle grip as it feels better to me than the thinner one. Hmm, a little fitting and it's on.
I also installed a trigger shoe to get a better feel with the pistol grip.

Haven't shot it yet as it sits but hope to this coming thursday
So here are the results

Is that some kind of trigger shoe like the one that H20 man sold a while ago, or is that a whole different trigger assembly? I ask because mine is in an EBR and I find that the only thing I don't like about it is the position the pistol grip puts my finger in for the trigger.

Yes, it is the shoe he sells. It was listed as the 2nd version. It's a little pricey but nicely made for what it is and cures the problem some people have with the trigger being too short and narrow. I like how it feels compared to my finger riding on the lower curved part of the factory trigger.
