Has anybody tried one of these. It looks like just what I was looking for. I get to use my stock Irons and have a solid long rail to put optics on. Win/win!!!

I saw the prototype at the 2011 SHOT Show. I like it. Don't know if Vltor has changed the model number but it was known as the CAS-M1A rail mount. HTH It is finally out, available in three colors, green, black and tan.

Does it work with the regular m1a stock or do you need to be using their pistol grip stock?

The new Vltor Weapons M14/M1A barrel rail mount will work on a SA, Inc. synthetic M1A stock or a USGI M14 stock. Check out the January 2012 issue of Shooting Illustrated. It has an article by Gary Paul Johnston on the changes he made to his M1A. Those changes include installing the new Vltor CAS-M1A barrel rail mount.

I was wondering the same thing because I just order a JAE 100 G3 and wanted to make sure it will fit that as well. I seen pictures on socom and a JAE stock so I think it's good to go.
