Wanting to put my M1a in a Sage stock.  I already have a scope for the rifle.  Just want to know which scope mount is the most solid and will work with the Sage stock as it looks like some might interfere with eachother.

I used the Larue SPR-E and it worked great.

Do these forward mounting scope mounts work better than normal M1a receiver mounts?

If you're interested I've got a Sage Detachable Cantilevered Sight Base that I've been meaning to sell. I did attach it to the stock as a test fit but did not fire the weapon with it attached. So it is basically still brand new.

I say so...

Right now I have an Acog attached to my LT-608, next week or the week after I will be putting an IOR Valdada Spartan 2-12x scope on it instead.

With either the Larue or Sage scope mount you can quickly take the whole scope, rings and mount off to use iron sights or carry a lighter M1A while you have your optics stowed in your ruck..... Just a suggestion.

I looked into every receiver mount for the M1A platform and most cannot be quick detached, and when they do they might lose zero..... Except the Bassett mount, I like the Bassett but the Larue or Sage mount doesn't require you carry an extra little tool to help install the mount back on the receiver. Unlike the Bassett mount.

I know I have chosen wisely when it came down to the Larue mount, I enjoy how versatile it makes the M1A with Sage stock.

Next time you see her she will be sporting a new IOR Valdada Spartan 2-12x scope with Vltor mod-pod legs and a fresh new woodland camo paint job!
